Production Server
OR: Accessing and using the Production ServerMany of us, on both P C and Mac, use Dreamweaver FTP our files. Therefore there is written explanations and pictorial examples below showing where the information above is entered in this utility. Note however that the same information can be used in other S F T P utilities such as Core FTP (available from the OIT Web site) for Windows.
Using Dreamweaver
FTP your Web pages to the Production Server.
In order to be able to upload your files to the Production Server, in Dreamweaver you must first set-up your site in Site Manager. So open up the Site Manager and follow the set up below.Local Info
Site Name: Any name is alright - name the site something you would recognize.
Local root folder: Your local files, if you are working on the network are located at P:\lastname# OR \\humdata\Web-UserStaging\lastname#\
The rest of the choices on the page are immaterial at this point. You may want to simply accept the defaults.

Remote Server
FTP Host: humftp-web.cohums.ohio-state.edu OR 140.254.249.27
Login: lastname# (on the Humanities Network)
Password: Enter your Humanities Account Password.
Use Firewall: NO (or unchecked box)
Use Secure FTP (SFTP): YES (or checked box)

You are ready to go!
(Note that the IP address may change, so it is better to use the FTP name as given above.)
Host Directory: /Users/Prod/lastname#
Login: lastname# (on the Humanities Network)
Password: Enter your Humanities Account Password.
You must use your Humanities Account password. However since you will be required to change this password every ninety (90) days, you may not want to save it here. By not putting in a password, then every time you access the F T P production site, you will be prompted for your password. This, will additionally, protect the security of your Web site.
Use Passive FTP: NO (or unchecked box)
Use Firewall: NO (or unchecked box)
Use Secure FTP (SFTP): YES (or checked box)
