Logon to the Network using Mac OSX

Active Directory Procedures

Note: The following procedures are only effective when using a computer from an on-campus Humanities location:

Connecting to Server from OSX


Logon screen for Mac OSX.
  1. From OS X desktop, select Go => Connect to Server.
  2. Type smb://humdata.
    humanities.local
    in SERVER ADDRESS field and click CONNECT.

File System Authentication screen.
  1. Enter username and password in appropriate fields, click OK.

Select shared volume screen.
  1. Select desired shared volume from drop-down list and click OK.

Shared Volume Definitions:
  1. UNITS - contain shared departmental files, if any.
  2. USERS - contain user’s personal data.
  3. Web – User should not use this selection.
  4. Web-Units - contains departmental Web site files.
  5. Web-UserProd - contains user’s Web site files on the Production server.
  6. Web-UserStaging - contains user’s Web site files on the Staging server.
